Nathalie Emmanuel
Nathalie Emmanuel was a British actor who gained notoriety for her role as Missandei in HBO's epic fantasy "Game of Thrones" (HBO in 2011-19). Born and raised in Southend-on-the-Sea which is a resort on the sea town located in Essex, Emmanuel was drawn to the stage from a young age. She noticed her mother's interest and started enrolling her in dancing, singing as well as acting classes when she was just three years old. Emmanuel developed into a talented actress and singer. The role she was given was the young Nala on"The Lion King" in West End in the film "The Lion King" in the late 1990s. Emmanuel began auditioning at the age of a teenager for roles in film and television. She nabbed her first big break in 2007 when she became Sasha Valentine on the British soap-opera "Hollyoaks" (Channel 4, 1995-2010), 1995- ). Emmanuel performed the part for four seasons and then left the show in. Emmanuel received her biggest break on HBO "Game of Thrones" the following year, in the role of Missandei. This role plays the role of the interpreter for Daenerys' Targaryen role (portrayed by Emilia Clarke). Emmanuel would go on to appear in each subsequent season of "Game of Thrones" up to the final episode on May 19, 2019.
